Product Description

[ERA : 60s / Pop, Rock ]
Flake formed in 1968 & entered the 1969 2UW Bands To Watch competition and won it from over forty groups. Hoping to attract some agency notice they had gone far better than expected beating The Daisy Roots by only one point. Flake evolved into a tight progressive rock unit doing competent covers of American soul stuff & material by Traffic, Spooky Tooth and Vanilla Fudge. The band had 3 hit singles from their 1971 How's Your Mother album on Martin Erdmund's Du Monde label, including "Life Is Getting Better", "Reflections of My Life" and "This Wheels on Fire" (a Bob Dylan cover). Bonus tracks included. Great LP replica sleeve & liner notes by their irrepressable drummer & resident comedian Wayne Thomas. (Not to be confused with one G. Wayne Thomas or for that matter T.S.Eliot's J. Alfred Prufrock). /
This Wheels On Fire * You've Got Me Thinking * Story * Dream If You Can * See The Light * Under The Silent Tree * Where Are You * Say Goodbye * Reflections Of My Life * Life Is Getting Better * To Be The One You Love * Where Are You * Teach Me How To Fly * Quick Reaction * Down In Rio * How's Your Mother
