Troy Shondell made his first records between 1957 and 1960 under his real name Gary Shelton. In 1961 he finally got his breakthrough hit, under the name Troy Shondell with the million selling This Time, a Top 10 hit in America and a Top 30 hit in Britain and now looked on as a classic recording of this Chips Moman song. Although a one hit wonder in Britain, he had two further records make Billboard's Hot 100. This Time was self-produced, but subsequent releases were produced by legendary names, Snuff Garrett and Phil Spector. This twenty-one track collection gathers together all his recordings from his days on the Mercury, Liberty and Everest labels as well as those that appeared on several smaller independent labels in America. Also includes detailed notes tracing his recording career between 1957 and 1962.
