APOLLO 100
(CD)
[ERA : 70s / Instrum'l ]
Sealed/ Apollo 100 was the short-lived 1970's successor to such 1960's instrumental groups as the Tornados and Sounds Incorporated. Tom Parker, an arranger from Newcastle, recruited the group, whose other members were ex-Tornados drummer Clem Cattini, guitarist Vic Flick (of "James Bond Theme" fame), guitarist Zed Jenkins, percussionist Jim Lawless, and bassist Brian Odgers. The group made its debut with "Joy", a single based on Bach's "Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring", on which they were accompanied by an orchestra. The record was a hit in America, rising to the Top 10 on the pop singles chart.
